Mumbai – Today’s Maharashtra Bandh was 100% successful, claimed Prakash Ambedkar, President of Bharip Bahujan Mahasangh (BBM). BBM has called for Maharashtra Bandh today in protest of Bhima Koregaon violence. As a result of Bandh, local train service and road traffic was severely affected in Mumbai Metro Region. Incidents of stone pelting were recorded in some parts of the city in which at least 4 bus drivers were injured. Similarly, many buses’s glasses were broken, tires were burnt. BEST and ST bus service was affected. In other parts of the state life was affected by Bandh.
Prakash Ambedkar called a press conference around 4 PM and announced to take the Bandh back. After that Mumbai’s life started to normalize. However, social media was very active with rumor mongers misusing it to create uncertainty in the society. Meanwhile opposition parties raised this issue in Parliament and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to speak on the incidence. However, he did not oblige.
