Islamabad – Pakistan will get its first Hindu MP next month when Pakistan People’s Party’s Krishna Kumari will win a seat for the Senate, upper house of Pakistan’s parliament. Kumari has been nominated by PPP and is certain to win this election. PPP has provincial government in Sindh province, the paery has asked its lawmakers to vote for Kumari for the election to be held on 3rd March.
Kumari comes from humble background and she said that she never dreamt of being elected to the parliament of the country. As a child, she has faced slave like situation, when she worked for an abusive landlord’s farm. She hails from Nagarparkar in Sindh province. Though Pakistan has witnessed few Hindu lawmakers making it to the parliament, all of them were men. Kumari will be the first Hindu woman to achieve the feet.
