Mumbai – After BJP’s debacle in bypolls in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, Shiv Sena has spared no chance to take swipe against the ruling party; while reacting on the results of BJP in UP, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has said that even Prabhu Ramchanrda is against BJP.
By-elections were held in two Loksabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, viz. Gorakhpur and Phulpur, which are won by SP-BSP. Both seats were considered as prestigious for BJP, since Gorakhpur was vacated after Yogi Adityanath vacated the seat after he was elected as Chief Minister of the state. Phulpur seat was earlier held by Keshav Prasad Mourya, who is currently Deputy Chief Minister of UP. SP and BSP came together for the elections and won both seats.
By-polls were also held in Bihar on 2 assembly seats and 1 parliamentary seat. RJD won Araria parliamentary and Jehanabad assembly seat, while BJP could retain Bhabua assembly seat.
