Mumbai – Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar presented budget for 2018-19 in assembly today. This is forth and last full budget for this government with revenue deficit of Rs. 15,375 Cr. Education, agriculture, employment, industries and development, these are the sectors that government has focussed through this budget.
Keeping in mind the farmers’ distress in the state, the government announced that it is taking efforts to double their income. Special attention will be given for water conservation projects in the state, in order to ensure enough water supply to farmers. Apart from farmers, government is also trying to woo women with soaps for women entrepreneurs. Though the government has made tall claims, yesterday’s economic survey shows that financial condition of the state is not so smooth, mainly due to implementation of GST and loan waiver for farmers.
