Marathwada/Vidarbha – Hailstorm and unseasonal heavy rain have caused major damage to life and livelihood of the farmers in Marathwada, Vidarbha and North Maharashtra. At least five people have died at different places due to nature’s fury and rabi crops have damaged bringing more distress to the farmers in the region.
Meanwhile agriculture minister Pandurang Fundkar has ordered administration to conduct inspection, he also asked the district administration to organize meeting with insurance officers and brief them about the damage occurred at village level.
Crops like wheat, grapes, gram, orange were severely damaged in the affected area. Meteorological department has cautioned that some more part of the state is likely to face hailstorm and unseasonal rain tomorrow also.
