Mumbai – In a major development, the state government has decided to provide interest-free loan of 2000 crore rupees to Maratha youths. This loan will be given by nationalized and urban co-operative banks, through Annasaheb Patil Finance Development Corporation. The state government will pay the interest of 200 crores on this loan.
The scheme will be unfolded from 26th January. Around 30,000 Maratha youths will be benefited from it. Loan amount can be varied from 10 lakhs to 50 lakhs. This move of government is seen as an attempt to pacify the angry Maratha community which is carrying heavy burden of unemployment and agrarian crisis.The beneficiary should have yearly income not more than 8 lakhs. Those who wish to start their own businesses, individually or in group, need to register online application using Aadhar Biometric System.
