Pune – NCP chief Sharad Pawar today favored considering economic as criteria for reservation instead of caste. In a much awaited open interview organized in Pune, where MNS chief Raj Thackeray was in the role of interviewee, Sharad Pawar answered volley of questions in this interview which kept the audience enthralled for over two hours.
Raj Thackeray raised the question, “if the government seats and opportunities in both educational and job sector are shrinking, then what is point in demanding reservations for different castes and communities”? He was referring to the demand for reservations from Maratha community. While answering the question, Sharad Pawar agreed that economic criteria should be considered for reservation instead of caste and communities.
