Finance Minister stops short of apologizing Manmohan Singh

New Delhi – Finance Minister Arun Jaitley tried to pacify angry Congressmen, especially former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh today by saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi “did not question, nor meant to question the commitment to the nation of either former PM Manmohan Singh or former VP Hamid Ansari” during the election campaigning in Gujarat recently. He was addressing media here today.

His statement is seen as close to apology but not exact apology. Modi’s baseless attack on former Prime Minister and other esteem former dignitaries had created trouble in the parliament. Congress has held the functioning of Rajya Sabha demanding apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which he did not intended to tender.
