Opposition demands probe in Judge Loya’s death

New Delhi – An opposition delegation comprising of 15 MPs met president Ram Nath Kovid today and demanded independent investigation into the death of Judge B H Loya. Loya was hearing case of Soharabuddin encounter case against BJP president Amit Shah, when he died of heart attack in 2014.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi led the delegation. The delegation submitted a letter signed by more than 100 opposition MPs to President Kovid. Rahul Gandhi told reporters that they feel that details are suspicious, and they should be resolved. Currently two petitions are heard by Supreme Court in this regard, but Congress indicated that the party is not happy with it. Opposition demanded that an SIT should be set up for the investigation, and it should not be carried out by CBI.
