Anganwadi Workers Get Remuneration Hike

Mumbai – Hundreds of thousands of Anganwadi workers in the state received a good news today. After staging agitations for several months, Maharashtra government has increased their remuneration. Women and children welfare minister Pankaka Munde made the announcement in assembly today. Now the anganwadi workers will get 1500 more, also the retirement age has been increased from 60 to 65. But to get the benefit of increased retirement age, they will have to submit fitness certificate.

Meanwhile the minister reiterated that now onwards anganwadi workers will not be able to go on strike, also the provision of MESMA will not be discontinued, which was recently announced by the government. Opposition parties have criticised the government for this provision.
