Ranchi – Punishment for Bihar’s former Chief Minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav will be sentenced tomorrow. Yadav is found guilty in one of the fodder scam case by a court here. Meanwhile Lalu Yadav has urged the special CBI court to keep in mind his deteriorating health and old age before announcing punishment. Under current laws he can be sentenced minimum 1 year to maximum 7 years of imprisonment. However, if he gets sentence for less than 3 years, he can immediately apply for the bail.
The announcement of the punishment is expected at 2 pm on Saturday. Lalu Prasad Yadav is found guilty of withdrawing 89.27 lakhs from Deogarsh Treasury during 1990-94. He was chief minister then. Earlier Lalu Prasad Yadav was sentenced for five years of imprisonment for illegally withdrawing 33.61 crore rupees from Chailbasa Treasury. However, he has been granted bail by Supreme Court in that case.
