Vasantdada Patil family unhappy

Sangli – One of formidable political forces in western Maharashtra, descendants of former Chief Minister Vasantdada Patil are told to be unhappy, according to information given by sources. After death of Vasantdada Patil, his descendants kept the fortress for many decades. However, in 2014 general elections, his grandson Pratik Patil lost from Sangli constituency. After that, the family was sidelined from the politics in this region.

Along with that, Patangrao Kadam one of the strongest inter-party opponents of Patil family increased their clout. Major posts are with Kadam family, and now name of Patangrao Kadam is doing rounds for LS elections. On the other hand for assembly elections, name of Jayashri Patil, widow of late MLA Madan Patil is also being discussed in district politics. Hence, Patil family is told to be somewhat rattled. On this background, Partik Patil recently met Uddhav Thackeray and later former CM Narayan Rane during their Sangli visit. Vasantdada Patil was always accused of helping Shiv Sena indirectly during its forming years. So by seeing with Uddhav and Rane, Pratik Patil is said to have sent a message to observers.
